Meet Tanner!
Tanner is a sweet kid with a magical Dream.
At a very young age, Dream Kid Tanner has already been through so much.
Tanner was diagnosed with congenital sideroblastic anemia when he was six months old. He had blood transfusions every month of his life until he was 7. But this never stopped his outgoing, fun, silly personality from shining through!
Tanner is very observant as well - during his time in the hospital, he always questioned everything and wanted in on the daily news. The doctors called him the trickster while in the hospital because of his outgoing and playful personality! Tanner loves to play baseball and hockey, and he loves jigging for people - his specialty is the Red River Jig! No matter how difficult Tanner’s medical journey gets, he always finds a way to make others smile.
Throughout his medical journey, Tanner has always been brave for all 100+ needle pokes. In January of last year, Tanner’s family received news of an official date for a stem cell transplant. Two months later, he was admitted to the hospital to prepare. Tanner’s brother Teemu was the donor! Tanner says his brother is the bravest for giving some of his stem cell blood.
The transplant took two days and was a success! A year and a half later, Tanner is recovering wonderfully. He is back in school after being away for almost two years.
Tanner’s Dream is to visit Disney World! He is hoping to take a fabulous vacation with his family to the most magical place on earth! He sees Disney as a magical, exciting, and fun place to visit. And you have the chance to help Tanner experience the magic!
