Dreams Come True in November
This month Dreams came true at home, and around the world!
Dream Kid Brie received her Swim Spa thanks to our incredible Dream Riders, Walkers, and supporters, as well as Mike at Crown Spas and Pools and Mitch the Pool Guy! Brie is SUPER excited about her brand new Swim Spa and can’t wait to spend time with her family (including Dream Kid Aria!) in the water!
Dream Kid Cayden and his twin brother Bryce took to the ice with Dream Factory Ambassador Josh Morrissey and the Winnipeg Jets hockey team for Cayden’s Dream Come True! Cayden and his family were picked up in a limousine and escorted to the Iceplex. Cayden and his brother joined the Jets on the ice for Sunday practice and got a tour of the locker room and facilities, plus jerseys and a whole bunch of Jets goodies! Cayden has been through a lot, and Cayden’s dad shared the significance of your kindess:
“By making a child’s Dream come true, that dark memory is forever paired with an extremely positive one. I personally believe that positive thoughts are incredibly important in helping anyone facing the challenge of illness. Your support is a beacon of pure light when the world around families like ours can feel very dark.” - Brian, Cayden’s Dad.
Dream Kid Teddy hopped across the pond with his family to see his favourite football team, The Denver Broncos, play in the NFL International Series in London. The Broncos must have heard Teddy's cheers because they took the win! In addition to watching his team win the exhibition, Teddy got to see the sights in England with his family. They visited the Tower of London, the British Museum, and went on a James Bond walking tour. Teddy is a big Beatles fan, so he had a blast checking out Abbey Road Studios in London and the Cavern Club in Liverpool. He even went on a Beatles Magical Mystery Tour! After a rough medical journey, Teddy has made some incredible memories in the UK to look back on - thanks to your wonderful generosity!
Last but not least, we are thrilled to share that Dream Kid Sarah, her sister, and a friend visited the Aloha state in November - and they had a blast! They relaxed on the beautiful beaches in front of the ocean and soaked in the sun. Sarah’s medical journey has had ups and downs, but her time on her Dream Trip allowed her some well deserved rest.
None of these Dreams would have been possible with you YOU, our amazing Dream Community! Thank you for your continued support and for being in our Dream Kid’s corner!
Meet a Dream Maker - Ernelda Ling!
This month, we are excited to introduce you to our new friend, Ernelda! Ernelda designs and makes beautiful bracelets, and has chosen The Dream Factory as the recipient of her mot recent fundraising campaign! Below is a little more information about her and how she is supporting Dream Kids!
“I have been making jewelry for over 30 years. It is both my passion and hobby, and I also make some money selling through my Instagram and some house parties. I have done several fundraising campaigns in the last few years and always donate all the profits to the organization, keeping nothing for myself. I have three children and six grandchildren, so obviously kids have been an integral part of my life and continue to be.
Further to that, all my days of being employed were also dedicated to children, as an EA for children with special needs in Winnipeg School Division 1, volunteering as a support in hospitals for sick kids and their families, and being an advocate for other parents going through challenging times with their children. To me it is an obvious extension of my deep love for children to donate money to The Dream Factory and help them bring smiles and joy to children and their families.”
Thank you, Ernelda, for helping make more Dreams come true!
