Welcome Andrew

We are so excited to welcome back Andrew Kussy as The Dream Factory’s new Executive Director!

To some, he may be a familiar face – from 2017 up until earlier this year, Andrew was the Development Manager with The Dream Factory, working with members of our community to help raise funds and bring Dreams to life.

To those who have not yet met him - Andrew looks forward to getting to know you, sharing stories of upcoming Dreams and Dreams come true, and working with you to support kids in Manitoba fighting some really tough battles.

“There’s no feeling quite like witnessing the moment a child learns that their Dream is going to come true,” Andrew says. “This is something I’m looking forward to as I rejoin The Dream Factory. I am also proud to be part of an organization that supports families before and after their child’s Dream. I can’t wait to continue sharing our stories with our incredible community of support and work alongside them to bring Dreams to life!”

Since joining the team at the beginning of September, Andrew has been working with The Dream Factory team on strategic planning, connecting with our supporters out in the community, and meeting with our Dream Kids and their families to discuss their big dreams!

Andrew shares some of his favourite moments since returning to The Dream Factory:

“I was so glad to re-connect with so many members of our community of support at the Josh Morrissey Classic at the beginning of September,” Andrew says. “The event raised over $190,000, and our Dream Kids in attendance loved getting a few pointers from the hockey hero, Josh Morrissey.

I also had the privilege of heading out to Brandon to check out Super Strength for Super Kids – a community fundraising event that brought together some of Brandon’s strongest folks to raise funds for some of their strongest kids.

But perhaps most importantly, one of my favourite moments so far as Executive Director was seeing the smile on Paul’s face when he embarked on his Dream shopping spree, complete with limo ride, hotel stay, and PS5 (of course)!

To this reading this, I’m really excited to connect (or re-connect!) with you about The Dream Factory’s work and the exciting Dreams we have coming up – including a Dolly Parton Dream come true!”

The Dream Factory looks forward to what’s in store with Andrew joining us!
