Deadlifts for Dreams 4 Raises Over $36K

The weightlifting fundraiser Deadlifts for Dreams has raised $100,000 since it first began in 2019.

We had a blast at Deadlifts for Dreams 4! This year really was the biggest Deadlifts event yet! On Saturday, August 27, we smashed our fundraising goal - our amazing Dream Community raised over $36,000 in support of Dream Kid Ethan! With that, Deadlifts for Dreams has raised over $100,000 since it began in 2019! We are so thankful for everyone who was involved in making this event a success: the lifters, the event organizers Dave + Ana, our hosts at Training Grounds Gym, our amazing sponsors, and everyone who donated and attended the event - THANK YOU!

The event attracted a big crowd to St. Malo, Manitoba. We had family fun activities like inflatable bowling, tug of war, and face painting. Dave, the event organizer, was the first one to get his face painted - he looked like a sparkling unicorn all day! Dave also emceed the event, announcing all the lifters and their weights, spectators cheered for every lifter. Heather’s Pretty Parties provided the face painting and brought along Captain America and Super Woman! Manitoba Egg Farmers, the premier sponsor, was in attendance with an egg toss game as well!

Ethan and his family also came out to the event. Ethan had a blast with all the activities - he even joined in and performed a deadlift! A few of the other kids brought a dinosaur toy to give to Ethan - how nice! Curtis - the event’s top fundraiser - and his daughter presented Ethan with an incredible dinosaur painting that was bigger than Ethan himself! After the event, freshly barbecued burgers were served alongside some cake and rice crispy squares.

Deadlifts for Dreams was all about sharing in triumphs - lifters beat their personal records for deadlifting, and the event beat its own fundraising record! We are so proud of everyone who made this event what it is today, and we can’t wait for the next Deadlifts for Dreams in 2023!
