February 2022 - Ice cream sandwiches and ice skating - February was a GREAT month at The Dream Factory!
Warmer weather is on the way! Even though February was cold and snowy, it cleared up nicely for our Great Skaters at the end of the month. It was incredible to safely gather and skate on the Nestaweya River Trail with many of our friends in the community - including a few of our very own Dream Kids! Keep reading to see all of the things that made February a GREAT month!
Ice Cream for Breakfast Day at Black Market Provisions
February started off with a delicious and very generous initiative from our friends at Black Market Provisions. Saturday, February 5th was ‘Ice Cream for Breakfast Day’, and the team at BMP brought back their famous ice cream sandwiches and sold them in support of Dream Kids 💙🍦
These delicious treats completely SOLD OUT and the team raised nearly $3000! Further, our friends at Crescent Financial Group purchased 100 of these ice cream sandwiches to be donated to staff at Children’s Hospital and CancerCare Manitoba. An incredibly generous gesture that made double the impact! ❤👏

Dream Kid Lily’s Valentine’s Day Cards Update
The love continued into February with the return of Dream Kid Lily’s ‘For the Love if Dreams’ cards. Lily teamed up with the fabulous folks Cranked Energy to sell these beautiful Valentine’s Cards through her business Howe Bay Designs. Together they raised $500!

The Great Skate smashed their fundraising goal!
WOW! The Great Skate has raised over $30,000 to help make Rylyn’s Dream of visiting Hawaii, a reality. It has been incredible to see the way the community has rallied behind her. There are so many folks who were part of this wonderful accomplishment, and we are sending our gratitude to each and every one of you. ⠀
To our Great Skaters - thank you for all of the time and effort put into spreading the word, asking friends and family to support you, and helping raise funds for Rylyn! We even had skaters from outside of Manitoba joining in to lend their support! A very special congratulations go out to our TOP FUNDRAISERS for the event ➡ Andi Eng, Chad Stefiuk, Emma Rindall, Derek Page, and Jeremy Bates - who did an absolutely incredible job!
To our Dream Kids and their families - we were so happy to see many of you out on Sunday. Thank you so much for sharing your weekend with us to support a fellow Dream Kid 💙
A HUGE thank you to the entire U13 AA Predators team and coaches - Rylyn’s hockey team came together with their entire hockey community to raise over $16,000 for Rylyn’s Dream through a variety of initiatives from Winnipeg to Brandon 🏒 💜
