Meet Dianna

One of our amazing Dream Factory volunteers!

Who are you?

Hi, my name is Dianna Williamson and I was born and raised in Brandon MB however I moved to Winnipeg in 1978.

What is your current role with the organization and how did you get involved get involved with The Dream Factory.

I have been a volunteer for The Dream Factory for the past 15 years. At that time when it was called The Rainbow Society, I was working for the Winnipeg Free Press. This is where I met Tony and Paul Thomson who got me involved with the Dragon Boat team. Tony's wife is Grace Thomson, who was the former Executive Director of the Dream Factory. I was one of the paddlers on the boat for about 5 years and all of the money we raised were for the dreams of children with life-threatening illnesses.

What is your favourite thing about being involved with The Dream Factory?

Seeing the excitement on the children’s faces is priceless. I like volunteer whenever I can and enjoy meeting those who also support The Dream Factory.

What do you like to do when you are not volunteering your time with The Dream Factory?

I work fulltime for a family physician and in my spare time I enjoy lake life, sports, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. In honor of my time on the Dragon Boat team I have a tattoo of Puff the Magic Dragon standing under a rainbow on my right calf.

If you could have a dream come true….what would it be?

If I could have one dream come true it would be see all children have a life without any kind of sickness.
