Dear Dream Maker,

Junel is turning 50 this year. Turning 50 is a big milestone year and he wants to do some good with his running. That’s why he is raising money for causes close to his heart. The Dream Factory is one he holds near and dear because his good friends - Eddie, Brenda, and their family - have experienced the magic of a dream come true firsthand.

Today, he is asking for your help in supporting this wonderful family.

Junel was inspired to fundraise for The Dream Factory after speaking with Brenda about the impact the organization has had on their family:

“I heard of The Dream Factory shortly after my son Aidan was diagnosed with a brain tumor behind his eye. After a vision test and an MRI, it was discovered that he was losing vision in one of his eyes. He was given an immediate referral to an oncologist. Aidan was quickly scheduled for 68 weeks of chemotherapy in hopes to shrink the tumor and then hopefully reversing his vision loss.

It was a very emotional time, but a friend referred us to this amazing organization. Soon after we met Shannon and Howard. They told us that they were going to make Aidan’s Dream come true! Aidan loves Disney characters, so visiting Disney was an easy choice. Aiden was given the trip of a lifetime and as a family we made so many wonderful memories.

After our trip, they stayed connected with our family. They give Dream Families a chance to go to Bomber games, Jets games, and have many other fun-filled events. They truly care about their Dream Families. The Dream Factory has been amazing through these uncertain times by having Virtual Drop In Dream Parties. These Zoom parties have created happiness and smiles for our children and for parents who are going through rough times.

The Dream Factory is a local organization that helps families going through one of the worst times in their lives - having children go through treatments, and appointments and more - by giving them a chance to escape their current reality. It is beyond amazing. “

A dream come true for a child suffering from a life-threatening illness provides them with a break from countless hospital visits, needle pokes, grueling medical treatments and painful surgeries. The delight and excitement in their eyes when they find out their special dream is going to come true is all you need to see to understand the impact that having a dream come true has on our Dream Kids.

Having a dream come true provides a child with hope, joy, and ultimately happy childhood memories during an otherwise very difficult time.
